    Independent Means is a California-based education company, specializing in financial and human capital education for families and family offices. We focus on learning that is based in project, service, and story to build practical experience and a personal narrative as context for financial knowledge and skills.

    Our principles are well established:

    • We are educators and mentors, not financial advisors. We help families develop the fluency needed to engage thoughtfully with advisors, trustees, and other experts with whom they have financial relationships, as well as to facilitate familial relationships impacted by financial connections.
    • We’re engaging and unique as well as comprehensive. Our live sessions with families and groups focus on the experience as much as the content so that the learning is enjoyable and memorable.
    • We’re developmental. Our products are designed for all ages of the life-cycle, including the financial novice of any age.
